No. 3 Aggies Face Texas State in Midweek Showdown

Ranked No. 3 and on a five-game win streak, the Texas A&M baseball team (25-3) heads to face Texas State (15-13) in midweek action at Bobcat Ballpark on Tuesday at 6 p.m. streamed on ESPN+.

With a perfect 7-0 record in midweek games this year, the Aggies look to continue their success on the road, sending RHP Luke Jackson to the mound for his second consecutive midweek start.

Texas A&M’s baseball team boasts impressive offensive strength, ranking second nationally in walks (204), ninth in home runs (56), and ninth in on-base percentage (.438). They also excel in home runs per game (10th), slugging percentage (14th), and runs scored (18th). Defensively, they maintain a strong seventh spot in fielding percentage with a .984 mark.

The trio of Gavin Grahovac, Jace LaViolette, and Braden Montgomery form a solid lineup punch, combining for 113 of the team’s 236 RBI this season.

Braden Montgomery, recently named SEC Player of the Week, leads the nation with 47 RBI and ranks second in home runs with 16. He also holds top positions nationally in total bases, RBI per game, home runs per game, and slugging percentage.

Jace LaViolette ranks third in the SEC for runs scored, fourth in home runs, and tenth in both RBI and slugging percentage. Additionally, Gavin Grahovac impresses in his freshman campaign, ranking ninth in the SEC in RBIs.

The Aggies lead the all-time series 48-14 and have won nine of the last 10 matchups, boasting an 8-3 record against Texas State on the road.
