The Election Commission today announced the schedule for assembly electionsin five states Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram.The voting will be held between November 7 and November 30. The counting of votes will take place on December 3. While Chhattisgarh will vote in two phases, all other states will hold one-day polls.
Madhya Pradesh
In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP announced 57 more names in the fourth list taking the total number of candidates to 136. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will contest from his traditional Budhni seat while state home minister Narottam Mishra will fight from the Datia seat.
All 57 candidates announced today are sitting MLAs. 24 of them are state ministers. Earlier, the party had announced 79 candidates, including two lists of 39 each, and one list of one nominee.

Rajasthan
In Rajasthan, the BJP announced its first list of 41 candidates. Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari and Jaipur Rural MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore are among the seven BJP parliamentarians who will contest the Rajasthan assembly polls.
Rajasthan has 200-member assembly for which polling will take place on November 23.
Chhattisgarh
The BJP today announced its second list of 64 nominees for the elections to the 90-member Chhattisgarh assembly. The party has named former chief minister Raman Singh and its state president Arun Sao, also a Lok Sabha MP, as its candidates.
Three MPs, including Union minister Renuka Singh and Gomati Sai, figured in the list.
