EV Production: BMW CE 02 EV production begins at TVS’ Hosur plant: Funky electric scooter, 90 Km range

Homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer and BMW Motorrad announced the rollout of the 1,50,000th unit of the 310cc series of motorcycles. The two companies have developed and introduced five motorcycles which include the BMW G 310 R, BMW G 310 GS, and BMW G 310 RR under BMW Motorrad and TVS Apache RR 310 and the recently launched TVS Apache RTR 310 under TVS.
The company also announced the commencement of the production of the BMW CE 02 electric scooter at the Hosur manufacturing facility. Back in December 2021, both companies expanded their partnership to develop new electric vehicles, platforms and new technologies. The BMW CE 02 has been designed and developed in collaboration with TVS and it’s also said that it’s been designed and developed for the international markets.

The CE 02 looks unique and funky, it features large wheels and is based on a double-loop steel tubular frame. At the front, it gets USD forks and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by a 296mm front disc with a single-piston calliper and single-channel ABS. It’s available in two variants dual battery and single battery.

The dual battery variant gets two split 2kWh lithium-ion battery packs paired with 15hp and has a claimed range of 90km and a top speed of 95 kph. The single-battery version gets a top speed of 45 kph and a range of 45 km. Both variants can be charged with either a 0.9kW standard charger or an optional 1.5kW fast charger. In terms of features, the EV gets LED lights, keyless go, 3.5-inch TFT dash, Bluetooth connectivity, reverse mode and ride modes.
