Nordstrom to expand retail presence in Texas

Seattle-headquartered fashion retailer Nordstrom, Inc. has announced to inaugurate a new Nordstrom Rack outlet in Houston, Texas, slated for launch in fall 2024. As the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc., Nordstrom Rack contributes to the company’s “Closer to You” strategy to provide customers with an interconnected shopping experience across physical stores and digital platforms.

Spanning 34,000 square feet, the store will find its home within Meyerland Plaza, one of the top open-air centers in Texas. It will share its presence with competitors like Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, JCPenney, Ross, Marshalls, and Old Navy, Meyerland Plaza, managed by Fidelis.

Gemma Lionello, President of Nordstrom Rack Stores, expressed enthusiasm regarding the company’s expanding presence in the region, highlighting the opportunity to introduce fresh clientele to the Nordstrom experience. Additionally, she emphasised the strategic convenience of the location, facilitating hassle-free returns for customers.

Nordstrom Rack offers patrons a chance to acquire fashionable apparel, accessories, beauty products, home essentials, and footwear from leading brands featured in Nordstrom stores, with discounts of up to 70 per cent. Core services, including online order pickups from and, effortless returns, and alterations at select stores, are also available. Notably, Nordstrom Rack stands as the primary contributor of new customers to Nordstrom.

This new establishment further solidifies Nordstrom’s footprint and economic contribution in Texas, supplementing its existing network of eight Nordstrom stores and 23 Nordstrom Rack outlets across the state, contributing to the creation of over 4,000 jobs statewide.
