JAIPUR: An 18-year-old preparing for medical entrance NEET was found hanging in his private hostel in Rajasthan’s Sikar Saturday, with initial probe pointing to suspected suicide.
Nitin Faujdar, a native of Nadbai town in the state’s Bharatpur district, had enrolled in a coaching centre in Sikar this June to prepare for the exam.
The case adds to the scores of such student deaths this year in Rajasthan.
Police said Faujdar’s roommate had gone to classes on Saturday but didn’t see him there, leading him to believe he may have stayed back in the hostel.
“When the roommate returned, Faujdar didn’t open the door despite many knocks. The roommate then peered through a window and found Faujdar hanging from a ceiling fan,” said a police official.
