So could Jurgen Klopp move into the transfer market to add some depth? La Gazzetta Dello Sport have linked the Reds with a €45m for Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners, who is a Dutch international and has scored five goals in Serie A already in 2023/24.

JONNY BE…GONE?

Wolves defender Jonny is heading for the Molineux exit door, with Greek club PAOK Salonika a potential destination.

The 29-year old has only made three appearances for the club this season, two of which were in the League Cup, while has hasn’t featured since coming on as a substitute in September’s win over Manchester City.

The Spain international is contract to Wolves until June 2025, but the club are keen to move him on and have told him he is free to leave.

BENZEMA TO MAKE LYON RETURN?

It’s reported that Lyon are keen to bring Karim Benzema back to the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

The striker started his career with the club, spending five years in the first team between 2004 and 2009, before moving on to Real Madrid.

He’s currently playing for Saudi club At-Ittihad, and although Lyon want him to make a return to France, it’s reported wages might be a sticking point.

FERGUSON IN RIGHT PLACE – MILNER

Brighton & Hove Albion’s teenage striker Evan Ferguson has been regularly linked to a move away since he broke into the first team with the Seagulls.

Team-mate James Milner has told TNT Sports that Ferguson, 19, is a brilliant finisher, and thinks that striker Danny Welbeck and manager Roberto De Zerbi are the right people for him to learn from. Brighton face Wolves on Monday evening.
