GUWAHATI: A fresh video clip has surfaced on social media showing a burnt body of a male in a trench in Manipur has once again brought out the horrors of the state’s ongoing strife.

The seven-second video shows the man in black t-shirt and camouflage trousers with face disfigured and body was on fire.

Manipur government’s security advisor Kuldiep Singh told media in Imphal on Monday the person shown in the video has been identified as Laldinthanga Khongsai alias Lal James and is aged 37 and son of Jampinthang Khongsai, a resident of Paokhongching under Nongpok Sekmai police station in Kangpokpi district.

Singh said, “His body is presently at JNIMS morgue and the case is being referred to CBI. He was killed on May 4 and this incident is a sequel to the viral video of two women who were paraded naked.”
