AYODHYA: The priests and staff of the under-construction Ram temple in Ayodhya have been given a pay hike. The priests and staff will also be entitled to additional facilities, which the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has decided to extend to them.
Giving this information on Wednesday, Teerth Kshetra secretary Champat Rai said the Trust has given a pay hike of 35%-40% to the chief priest, priests, manager and staff members, including store keepers and gardeners, of the temple. In addition, priests and staff will receive housing and medical allowances along with weekly off.
Chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das welcomed the decision. According to Trust sources, the chief priest’s salary has been increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 32,900 per month. Assistant priests, who were getting Rs 20,000 per month, will now get Rs 31,000.
